THE POTATO GROWING SEASON

The potatoes are planted in April and are usually starting to appear by the end of May. In June we water the potatoes – known as irrigation – using water from a bore hole on the farm. Depending on the weather we can start to harvest some of the heritage varieties at the end of June but the main harvest starts in September when the skins are set. We can store the potatoes in specialist fridges all year round.
